‘Praise Adonai 2017’

spiritually awesome success!

Toronto, Jan 01: ‘Praise Adonai’, the 15th Annual spiritual event organized at Michael Power and St.Joseph’s Secondary School Auditorium in Etobicoke by Sts. Peter and Paul Prayer Group of Mississauga, Canada on December 31st, was a spiritually awesome success that stirred the spirituality of over 600 faithful of multi-cultural background who attended despite the extreme cold conditions from various parts of Canada. The main purpose of this event was to spend the last few hours of 2017 in thanksgiving, to usher into the New Year 2018 in His mighty presence and to CELEBRATE the exuberant joy and presence of God in their lives.  Undoubtedly it was a life changing experience for all who were present.

With the theme: "Now you must repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out".” (Acts 3:19),the evening’s program triggered off at 6:00 in the evening with the recitation of the Holy Rosary led by Sylvester and Ruby. This was followed by the melodious and angelic singing of the prayer-group choir. The powerful Praise and Worship led by the servant leader Olympio Fernandes, Shaun and Denise was soul-elevating and gave the packed audience a heavenly experience.

Hazel D’Souza, the main speaker for the evening gave a powerful talk on ‘the Repentance and God’s unconditional Forgiveness based on Prodigal son & his brother’. Hazel, a renowned preacher from Mumbai, India, flew-in to Canada especially for the occasion. In her talk she highlighted the importance of Repentance & turning to God. “Warning signs – Church, Consciousness, Mothers prayers and suffering” she narrated and gave a clarion call to enter the narrow gate paved with the foot prints of Jesus our Savior. Her spirit-filled talk led the congregation to repent at the final hours of the year 2017.

This was followed by delicious & sumptuous dinner catered by ‘Konkan Delite’, Toronto’s renowned Caterers.

Next was ‘Acts 3:19…’ Spiritual Skit based on Repentance and God’s Forgiveness written and directed by the renowned artiste Olympio Fernandes was presented by the prayer-group members.  Spectators were totally spell-bound on watching their unmatched performance.

To add more fun there were quiz questions to the audience based on Holy Scriptures & lots of door prizes.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ferdy D’Souza , one of the Core-Team members of the prayer group.

SPPPG organizes spirit-filled LSS

Mississauga, Dec 17: The Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) organized by Sts.Peter and Paul Prayer Group, Mississauga every Fridays started from October 13, 2017 concluded with great finale with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Fr. Ben St.Croix on December 15, 2017.

This seminar has truly deepened or re-kindled attendees’ personal relationship with Christ, as their Lord and Saviour. It has made them re-discover the power, which Jesus gave his people through the Holy Spirit. It has awakened the gift and charisms of the Holy Spirit, so they can experience the fullness of his grace. The word has become more active now, and they can experience His presence in a more tangible way, working in them and through them to others. They now feel a part of the community or a group of Christians (through our sharing @ the LSS), with whom they can share their faith, and also receive support from others.. It has made them, discover the power of living together in love and peace, to comfort the afflicted (especially through His living promises in scripture) and to worship God with new and abundant praise.

The anointed preachers like Fr.Dominic Borg who shared on on ‘God’s love for us’, Fr.Francis Ching who shared on ‘The Gift of Salvation’, Sr.Audrey Johnson who shared on ‘The Grace of the Holy Spirit & New Life’, Fr.Matthias Amuza who shared on ‘Preparing to receive the grace of the Holy Spirit’, Fr.Don Quilao shared on ‘Growing in the Spirit’, Sr.Mary Cruz shared on ‘Forward in the Spirit / Transformation in Christ’ enlightened every attendees through their anointing preaching.

Thanks to all the co-group members who worked on this tirelessly, to make this experience possible for everyone with God’s grace.
